EPS Press – A New Initiative for Enhanced Recycling

WMS Nordic has recently invested in another EPS press from Miltek to meet the growing demand for recycling EPS (expanded polystyrene, commonly known as Styrofoam). With this increased capacity, we strengthen our commitment to contributing to a circular economy and helping businesses and municipalities manage their waste streams more sustainably.
The new EPS press enables efficient compression of Styrofoam, reducing its volume by up to 50 times. This not only makes transportation more cost-effective but also ensures that the material is recycled in the best possible way. Unpressed EPS, which can otherwise take up significant space and be challenging to handle, can now be delivered to us for further recycling.

Why is EPS Recycling Important?

EPS is a common material used in packaging and insulation, but it poses challenges for waste management as it takes up a lot of space and is difficult to break down naturally. By compressing and recycling Styrofoam, we reduce the amount of waste going to landfill or incineration and instead transform it into new materials, such as plastic products or insulation.

Part of Our Sustainability Efforts

This investment is part of WMS Nordic’s long-term effort to create sustainable solutions for our customers. Our goal is to make recycling simple and accessible for everyone while minimizing environmental impact. The new EPS press represents a step forward in our mission to support businesses and municipalities in transitioning to more sustainable waste management practices.
We look forward to collaborating with more companies and municipalities that want to take responsibility for their EPS and contribute to a greener future.
